Hi recently I had recently a newsletter from a legal firm ICS legal in which they mentioned that EU Nationals and non EEA residence permit holders can apply for british citizenship after a qualifying period without applying PR.
Does anyone knows about this change in july 2012.
Please advice me in this case.

Nothing has changed in July related to this.

EEA family member don't need to apply for PR confirmation as status under EEA regulations is obtained automatically. They can skip the PR Confirmation and apply for BC after 6 years of residence (5 years to obtain PR status + 1 year free from immigration control). This has always been the case. Nothing has changed recently.

Hi all, just a quick one,I would like to enquire if 5 years RC starts to count on the day I got married or the day RC starts.
Got married in 2008
RC granted in 2010
Divorced in 2012
Applied again in 2012 for retain of right but I was issued another RC in 2012
My solicitor said I can apply for naturalization after first RC expires in 2015
Need someone to shed light on this please!!
Thanks in anticipation!!
