Child Born in the UK - post Parents ILR - British Passport

Hi All,
Apologies if this subject/query is already answered but I am struggling to get the correct info.
I and my wife (indian Nationals) received our ILR 2 weeks back and have a six month old daughter. We did not apply for her ILR as we were told that we can directly apply for her registeration of a child under 18yrs and then apply for the british passport subsequently!
Can I get her registered based on our ILR status and her birth certificate (under section 3 (1)?
