Hi guys!

Me and my wife got our ILR approved a couple of days ago and we are really happy and grateful to this forum and its members.

My wife has been here for 2 years and we will be applying for our childs MN1 registration and passport soon.

My wife intends to travel to home country with the baby after all the paperwork is done. She is planning to live there for 2-3 months.

I was wondering if it would affect her citizenship application in the future?

Does the same rules apply for citizenship as it applies for ILR .. like no single trip longer than 90 days and total of 180 days absence in 5 years?

450 days in the last 5 years, 90 days in the last year. There are a couple of provisions to allow case-workers discretion, though. If you have a reasonably good explanation and everything else in in order, a senior case-worker has the discretion to waiver the absences requirement to a certain degree.

I will not want to go down the discretion route as the long absence can easily be avoided.

What are the maximum days requirement if she applies on 3 years route (spouse of British citizen as i will apply before her).

270 days outside the United Kingdom during the three-year qualifying period and 90 days during the last 12 months (see here).
