Hi,

I have been on ILR for last 16 months and applying for citizenship next week with an appointment with NCS at local authority on 19th Dec 2012.
My query is in relation to below point:

"been present in the UK five years before the date of your application; and"

Since I am applying through the NCS at local authority on 19th Dec 2012 so what will be the actual date of application as during the period from 25th Dec 2007to 13th Jan 2008, I had not been in UK.

So would the applying before the 25th Dec 2012 will be in fulfilment of the above requirement?

Thanks in advance,

No, it depends from the day on which the UKBA receives the application.
If your NCS appointment is the 19th but then your envelope reach the UKBA after the 25th, you'll have not fulfilled the requirement I am afraid.

Don't worry apply on 19th Dec 2012 and ask NCS to make sure your application sent by special delivery reached next day to UKBA. It will be delivered to UKBA on 20th Dec 2012 or 21st Dec 2012, you will be all right. Good Luck!

Most of the rest of the year I'd agree with you, but that's just before Christmas. A day of snow, the 20th or the 21st, the delivery may be easily delayed to the next working day, which may well be the 27th.
