Approved: more useful info here

With MN1 form applying under section 1.3, do I include the 'long form' birth certificate or the 'short form'?

Thanks

Long - it needs to show who the parents are.
Thanks

2.2 we have lived at one address only. So only one entry for us.
2.3 No absences from UK. So nothing to fill.
2.4 UK

Follow up question :

- on page 3 of MN1 form, where exactly do I put the First name of the child?

1.5 Surname/Family Name SHARMA
1.6 Other names (if different from the name shown on the child's passport (doesn't have one)/birth certificate, please explain why on page 13 of the form.)
1.7 If the child is or has ever been known by any name or names apart from those mentioned above, please give details here.

The full name of the child is:
First name PRAVEEN
Surname SHARMA.

1.16 Present addressPhone numbers - is it OK to give my phone and email? A child 2 yr old doesn't have his own phone or email yet.

1.39 (page 6) Date of parents' marriage or civil partnership Am I required to submit marriage certificate as well?

PAYMENT - how/where do I mention 2 MN1 applicants on the payment form?

Any help would be appreciated.

1.39 (page 6) Date of parents' marriage or civil partnership Am I required to submit marriage certificate as well? - Not sure, if using NCS I would check with them but it won't do any harm in sending it

PAYMENT - how/where do I mention 2 MN1 applicants on the payment form? If applying through NCS, best to check with them as you get a reduced fee for two children

Any help would be appreciated.

hi
Can you please tell do I (father) need to submit my passport or ILR card with the childs MN1 form?

It is not stated in the form to attach these but I have read some members are saying that father needs to send his ILR card or passport

N.B : I am planning to send the application via post without using NCS

hi,
Are we not suppose to fill 1.2?
If not then how Home Office will know our (father) ILR status. As far as my understanding goes, MN1 does not require you to send your ILR biometric card to Home Office

Please correct me if I am wrong

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... documents/

The small fee that NCS charges is really worth it as you get to keep your original documents and they can tell you what they need to include in your application and take the appropriate copies.

thanks for the reply?
Is filling section 1.2 not enough for Home office?

Page 30 of the guidance document lists documents to include with MN1. Now this list is not stating father's ILR. Please correct me if I am wrong

Also my child current dependant visa (dependant of Tier 1 general) will be expired in few weeks. Do I need to send MN1 before visa expiry date? My child was born in uk and I did not apply for her ILR with me. If I apply late, will that count as illegal stay as current visa will be expired in few days?

Visa expiry will not have any effect on MN1 as child was born in the UK and will not be an overstayer.

Fill in 1.2 with your reference number, that should be sufficient.

thanks for the reply

Do you think the below are the only documents to send with MN1?

Evidence from children living in the United Kingdom
You should provide:

the child's full birth certificate; and
the child's passport used on entry to the United Kingdom and any other subsequent passports; and
the parents' marriage or civil partnership certificate.

That is what UKBA website says. But I would still recommend using NCS, its a small fee to double check your application supporting documents are correct and you will be able to keep all your original documents and passports.

Section 3 of MN1 form does not apply if the child is applying under Section 1(3) or 3(1) of the Act.

Please read the document mentioned earlier.

I think section 1.2 should not be blank but should contain the UKBA reference number for the parent who has ILR or BC from MN1 Guidance notes. Since you has send the copy of UKBA ILR letter it should had been fine.
Question I have do i need to put the BRP reference number of or the refence number from the letter issue at PEO office.

1.3 BLANK
1.36 Mother ILR still to apply : Leave it blank

Section 2

Section 4 - Not applicable for children under 10. Both my children are under 10 (4 & 2 respectively).

Section 5 - Photo and Referees - self explanatory

Section 6.5 Child consent did you filled this section and used thumb impression or left is blank ?

My children did not do anything besides standing still for the photo. No thumb prints.

My children did not have previous passport, so I did not have anything to send.

Not sure if both parents ILR required for section 1(3) application.

It is usually the ref no on the letter
