New year greetings to all forumites....

I have an urgent query regarding a rule of 90 days absence in last 12 months.

I would be eligible to apply for Naturalisation in the middle of January. I've been out of UK since 26th October 2012 due to urgent family matter. Actually my dad met with an accident and he became quite critical.

To put things in context, I also had a 15 days of annual holiday in the month of August. Also,I never had more than 20 days out of UK absence in any year since last 6 years. My total out of UK holidays has been around 140 days in the last 6 years until October. I'm planning to travel around next week back to UK, I counted the days and it comes out to be around 95 days for the last year.

Do you think this would be acceptable, I know there can apply discretion. Do you think my case would fall under the category also considering I have never been out of UK for that long anytime in last 6 years.

Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks

You will be fine. Absences upto 100 days in the last year are normally accepted.

Happy New Year.
