When do I apply?

Post by SHANKARK » Sun Jan 06, 2013 4:33 pm

Hi There,

I got indefinite leave last year on 28th March 2012. Am I safe to book an appointment for naturalisation at my council NCS on 29th March 2013?

Yes, provided you meet the 5 residence (or 3 years if married to a BC) qualifying requirement and are within the absence allowances and as long as you have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years before the UKBA receives your application.

Yes, I came into the UK under HSMP on 21st April 2007 and well within the absences during HSMP and Tier-1 (got indefinite leave satisfying this) and no absences so far after getting indefinite leave.
