Hi,
I am a naturalized British citizen, I got married last year and applied for my wife's visa and they have refused it. My wife is pregnant and her due date is February 24th. I have filed an appeal where the appeal date is end of February, I know from UKBA website that a baby can acquire British citizen by descent. That can be done by registering the baby as British citizen. I would like to know what is the processing time to register a British citizen and get a passport in India. What is the procedure to do that.
Any help is appreciated.

No, that would be automatic and registration is not necessary. Your child will be born British by descent and need only apply for a passport on that basis.
Registration is necessary when a child is born in the UK to migrant parents who later acquire ILR.

If you were British before the baby was born, my previous comment applies and the child is automatically British without the need for registration. If you were British after the baby was born, the child is not British and nor can he/she be registered as British.

You are mixing up two different registrations:
1. Registration as a British citizen - not relevant in your case.
2. Registration of the birth - this is optional.
