I and my together got our ILR in Nov 2012, so just want to check I don't want to lose my Indian citizenship so can my wife apply for BC on her own in Nov 2013, she's living with me in UK since 2008, so 5 yrs in UK since we got married.


I have read the rules for spouse on UKBA but not entirely surely as I know if I take BC she will automatically qualify, but I want to check the other way round if she can apply for BC on her own with me just being on ILR.

Can senior please confirm about this.

She can apply BC on her own as she has lived here legally 5 years and got ILR. You can keep your Indian Nationality. Good luck.

jsut to confirm she will legally complete her 5 yrs in October 2008 including ILR.

So it still should be fine right??

She can apply in Nov 2013 after completing 12 Months on ILR if she meets all other requirements for BC.
