Guys just a quick question,

I am going to apply for a job and it will be related with elderly people. the carer company has asked me to fill details for enhanced CRB. my question is will the caution ( i got in 2006) will appear in it even if it was in Northern Ireland?

Or am i right to think that cautions are deleted after 5 years?

Many thanks

Well , things are changing so the best answer is to call the CRB in Liverpool and they will give you the most up to date info than anyone on here ...besides they are the CRB so they should be able to put all your queries to bed .

I have researched this extensively because my partner has a caution and I am trying to get him a visa to America.

If you have never been arrested or charged / cautioned and you get an enhanced CRB it comes back as, "No Trace"

If you have been arrested and charged / cautioned within the past 5 years it will say Trace and have a record of the offence.

If it has been more than 5 years from your Caution it will say, "No LIVE Trace"

So then whoever performed the CRB will ask, OK, well if there is no LIVE trace then what kind of trace exists? So you're best to declare the Caution up front.

Hope that helps

Hi slugmeister this is something new to me... i always thought you get cautioned only if you are arrested or admit what you did.

I am not sure what you are asking but a caution is an admission of guilt.

As trs2011 said, ring the CRB
