I'm in urgent help guys, please help me clarify my doubt.

I've got the two references, both are over 25 and British passport holder.
However,in profession they have written IT consultant and another one as company secretary.

Do you think these would be acceptable, was going through the professional list and could not find both of them listed. But again that list is quite generic and vague.

I was going through the professional list again and it states 'Articled clerk of a limited company' and 'Manager/Personnel officer (of limited company) '
....what does that mean, does it include 'company secretary' in it....please any thoughts guys.

Is the IT consultant a member of a professional organisation? (Charted engineer, members of BCS)? Just being an IT consultant is not enough.

Same goes for the secretary.

If you can't find any other referees, you can use those. If the HO are not happy with them, they will not refuse the application but write to you asking for another reference.

Hi, you are fine. Your both referees are OK, ''Company Secretary'' is acceptable by UKBA. You can find List of acceptable professional persons here.

I'd thought 'Company secretary' to be grouped under 'Manager/Personnal officer of limited company'...please let me know if that is not the case.

It's just my friend owns this limited company but for some reason he has made his wife as director and himself as company secretary.

Yes you are right, ''Director/Manager/Personnel Officer of a VAT registered Company''.

Thanks skymoon for your reply.

I know I'm just overly worried, don't want to introduce any unwarranted complications just for this
