Hello,
I'll be applying for BC soon, But I am not sure about the procedure.
My current status:
Myself: Got ILR in Mar 2012
Husband: Got FLR(M) in Aug 2012
This is my understanding:
1.) I apply for Naturalization using form AN.
2.) I get back approval letter
3.) I attend the ceremony
4.) I get the certificate.
5.) I apply for British passport
6.) I attend passport interview
7.) I get British passport
8.) I submit my application for surrendering my Indian passport.
9.) I get back surrender certificate.
10) I apply for PIO card.
11) I get PIO card, and hopefully that's it.
Can someone please confirm if my understanding is correct?
And also,
1) What happens to my husband's FLR(M) status once I get British passport?
2) Will his status change from FLR(M)? I mean should we be applying for him as well? If yes, what?
Thanks

Seems fine but I would use the NCS if I were you. Regarding your husband if he is under the old rules for FLR(M) he will be able to get ILR after 2 years if the new rules (requiring ~£18k Gross annual income) he will have to wait for 5 years before getting ILR.

Thanks, Yes I'll be using NCS, forgot to add to the list.
And, so my husband's needs to apply for ILR in Aug 2014 (2 year rule) only, nothing now? He will stay on FLR(M) irrespective of the fact that I have got BC now?

The fact that you will have BC will mean that he can apply for naturalisation following 3 years residency not 5 once he has completed his FLR(m) and received ILR providing he meets the other criteria.
