Cancelled passport question

Hi there,
I have a quick question about applying for a British passport. The application booklet says to not include cancelled passports in the application, and defines a cancelled passport as one that has the top right-hand corner of the cover cut off.
I have 2 old passports that ran out of pages, since they had valid visas at the time. One of these was returned to me with a corner cut off, and one was returned to me unaltered.
So is my interpretation correct that I should only submit my current passport and nothing else?
Thank you.
