Okay, so my mom and dad lived in the UK for over 10 years between the 70's and 80's and gave birth to my brother in the UK, who is now a british citizen. At the time, my mom qualified for citizenship and it got approved, but she didn't go through with it because my parents relocated to asia.

I was born in asian, but have been studying in the UK, for a few years now. Could my mom claim her british citizenship now? and if she can could I?

Qualified for citizenship and it got approved but she did not go through with it. What on earth does that mean?

She made the application and did all the procedures to getting one. She just had to receive the passport, but she was moving countries, so she informed them she no longer required it.

Did she get a naturalisation certificate?

Nope. She withdrew.

Then it's probably too late for her.
