Hi,

I am struggling to get referees for my child’s citizenship. My kid was born last year and we moved cities early this year. We have had them register in this city but health visitors and GPs wouldn’t give the reference!! Spoke to midwife and health visitors in old city and they are saying they won’t be able to do it either!!

The kid was born before we got ILRs.

I am not sure what to do?!!

Would this combination be acceptible.

1. Someone with professional standing (Doctor/ Civil Servant) from Pakistan -Pakistani passport holder.

2. Friend from UK (British Passport holder).

However no GPs/ health visitor agreeing to do this!!

If the child was born in the UK the professional referee can be any professional on the list as per Children Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting

GPs are excluded from list by Home Office!!

Now I am struggling due to changing cities. Need to check with midwife in old city but am doubtful!! Here in new city, child clinic are saying that we didn’t visit them so much –we didn’t need to as was not required!!!

What to do?!!!

This list isn't exhaustive, GPs are fine.
