Citizenship or Settlement Visa for Child Born Abroad

I am a British Citizen by Naturalisation (since 3 years ago). I would like my 16 year old son to join me here in the UK who is in Africa but I am not sure if I should apply for British Citizenship using the MN1 Form or apply for the settlement visa. Currently my son lives with his mum in Africa whom I never married and am married to someone else.
I am a bit confused if I should apply for British Citizenship or a Settlement Visa
