Gday, I was wondering if anyone has had issues with receiving a duplicate certificate of british citizenship. I have received my citizenship last year, and sadly I misplaced my certificate which contained a typo. I have applied to ukba for a new one, explained the typo situation, attached a cheque for £94. UKBA cashed the cheque, 3 months later I got a cheque back with no explanation. I figured that I shouldn't have asked them to issue a new cert and amend the mistake so decided to apply again, same situation, I got the cheque back yesterday, no explanation. I am puzzled, calling UKBA is a mission impossible, emailing them took me nowhere. Please does anyone have a clue what might be the reason for the refusal ( i guess we can call it refusal) to issue a duplicate?
