Expiring Passport & Naturalisation Application. Help ple

Hi Friends,
This site has been of great help to me over the past few years. I have a query that needs help.
I have got my ILR on 2nd August 2012 (was on HSMP before) and I hope I am eligible to apply after 2nd Aug 2013 for Naturalisation.
My Indian passport is expiring on 4th August 2013.
I am just wondering whether I need to first renew my Indian passport and then apply for Naturalisation & British Citizenship or to go ahead and apply for naturalisation during the month of August 2013.
