Sending a special delivery envelope after app submission

Post by ajax » Fri Jul 12, 2013 8:07 pm

Hello,

I have recently submitted an application for naturalisation. I did not include a self-addressed special delivery envelope. Now I wish I had, as I have heard that it can take upwards of ten or twelve days for the outcome of the application to be sent after a decision is made via regular post.

I recently received my acknowledgement letter. I would like to send a reply letter to the nationality team that is looking into my application with a self-addressed special delivery envelope enclosed, and ask them to send the outcome of the application in this envelope whenever it has been reached.

Does anyone know if this is okay to do? Has anyone ever done this before? Or would this just be a waste of my time and money?

Many thanks

The special delivery is for your documents to be sent back.

Yes, I am aware of that. My question is whether or not it is worth sending a new special-delivery envelope to the naturalisation team after I have received the acknolwedgement letter, and asking them to send the outcome in this envelope.

Can anyone help?

Some people enclosed special-delivery envelopes but they still received their document by normal second class mail.

I received mine in the special-delivery envelope I enclosed.

I doubt your special-delivery envelope will be linked with your application, anything out of the routine for the Home Office is placed in a long queue.

Yes, it is worth sending a prepaid self addressed special delivery envelope. But do it asap.
