Does visitor visa counts towards residency requirement?

Hi,

Me and my wife have ILR for 12 months now (since July 2012).
I have had work permit/Tier2 for the 5 years previously, so I fulfil the residency requirements for british citizenship application.

My wife came to UK on marriage visitor visa (in June 2008), we got married in the UK, and then she became my dependent (since December 2008), until we both got ILR.

Now, she has been in the UK as my dependent for 4 years 7 months previous to ILR, and for 6 months before that she had the above mentioned marriage visitor visa. This is 5 years in total, however I'm not sure if the marriage visa counts towards 5-year residency requirement for british citizenship.

Any answer/clarification is much appreciated.

Alex

Thanks Vinny for the prompt reply.

The link you provided was very useful.
My only concern is if anything changed since 2009 when the linked disscusion is from?
Changes to naturalisation law have been mentioned (on this forum and in the press as well), but I haven't managed to locate documents that clarify any changes.

Cheers,
Alex

Any legal time counts, but for some exceptions such as those with diplomatic status. The link is still valid.
