2 form AN questions

Please help with what is hoepfully a couple of simple questions (though have looked on this site and the guidance notes and wasn't sure):

1) 5 Year residence documentation
Depending on how I read the guidance forms it could be asking me to also get a letter from my employer. Is providing a passport (and filling in the days absent) enough to prove an application based on 5 years residence?

2) Definition of "related to" when obtaining references
Does related to include those who have married into the family? I was hoping to use the wife of my cousin but don't want to fall foul of the rules.

donelly,

No letter from employer is not mandatory. Your current passport and/or old passport which you will submit to the NCS will contain all the immigration stamps of entry and exit .

If you were employed your P60's would serve a dual purpose, i.e. of proving that you settled your dues to the HMRC plus you were in the country and earning in the last 5 years.

Regarding Relative it means anyone related to you directly or through your relationship/s. Wife's kin are relatives.

All you need is a professional referee over 25 years of age. This referee need not be a British Passport holder/citizen, a commonwealth citizen would suffice.

The second referee should be a british citizen over 25years old but need not be professional.

Hope this clarifies all your doubts.
Good Luck
