Hi

I am new to this forum and I would like to thank each and every member of this forum to provide wonderful advice concerning immigration issues (very crucial to each and every one). Kudos to everyone!

Let me set the scene before asking my questions,

I am a PhD student in UK (of-course holding Student Visa). My fiance is from France. She is not living in UK. We are going to marry here in UK in December. I am finishing my PhD in next week and going to start work as a Research Associate. I have few questions to ask?

(1) Do I have to apply for Tier 2 Visa?
(2) Considering my fiance is in France and never works or stayed in UK with me (apart from few days), Can I get EEA permit?

Your time and help/answers are really appreciated well in advance.

Thank you.

Regards,
Mitul

This post should be moved to EEA forum.

1) does your current visa allow you to work? When will it expire?
2) Once married and living in the UK, you would be allowed to live and work in the UK as long as your wife exercises treaty rights. See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucit ... sibilites/
