hi all,
my child born in uk in july this year.
I just got my ILR. so, i can register my child as BC.
Do i have to register her through MN1 form or i can apply directly for her passport?
As my friend told me that he applied for his son's passport directly without register using MN1

Depends on parent's status when child was born.

Thanks vinny,
Its clear now. I have to apply for her naturalisation.
few question regarding her application.
1. do i have to send my original BRP & passport with application?
2. i only have birth certificate, no passport for my baby.
so just send original birth certificate?
3. Is first refree should be related to her means health visitor/teacher?
as she is just born only health visitor comes in our case. now problem is everytime there is different health visitor & its possible she refuse to give reference.
So, in this situation will GP reference will work?

A child registers as British not naturalises, in your case it appears an entitlement to do such under section 1(3) assuming the other parent wasn't settled/British when the child was born.

Hi All,
I got ILR and my wife is on spouse wise, my daughter born in UK,
I m confused whether I should register my daughter for BC or should I wait for my naturalization and then gets her passport.
Plz advise me what is best for me.

JShah your child will still need to register as British to get a British Passport even if you're naturalised.

Thanks Amber for quick response,
I have already booked an appointment for my daughter's registration but one of my friend said that I do not need to register her, I can wait 1 year and once I m eligible for naturalization my daughter will automatically become British and will get her passport. How far is it right.
and can u plz clarify why I still have to register her even though if I become British.
Thanks

It's not right one iota. The only way your daughter will become British is if she registers.

Thanks John,

If either one or both parents of the born-in-the-UK child has ILR, then a section 1(3) application can be made to Register the child as British.

Indeed. Notice the use of the
disjunctive "
or" in
1(3)(a).
