application for naturlisation

Hi,

I am going to apply for my naturlisation, however i received two fixed penalty notices at the same time in may this year. 1 was for worn off tyre and the other one was for tinted tail lights £30 pounds.

Both fines were paid within 14 days. The fine issued for tinted tail lights is arguable as i had the car for about two years i had been pulled over by police before and also i had the car mot'ed no body mentioned it to me that they were illegal, but i didn't wanted to risk it by going to court therefore paid the fine.

If i mentioned the above on the further information page i think my application might be approved.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? please share, any thoughts are welcome

Thankyou in advance for those you replied to my post

Redash,

Two FPN's in a year. You will need to disclose both.
But to be safe wait until the first one is past a year , do not rack up any further in this period and then apply.
The latest guidance issued to case workers has given them Godlike powers and you are at their mercy when it comes to them taking the decision based on ''pattern of offending''.

Hope this helps.
cheers

Hi VR,

Thanks for your reply. Both fixed penalty notices were issued at the same time. I know its a bit risky but case worker instuctions chapter 18 annex D.

The decision maker will not consider these unless the person has:

received "numerous" fixed penalty notices which would suggest a pattern of behaviour that calls into question their character.

According guidance in Booklet AN

"We would not normally take FPNs into account, unless you have had more than one in the last 12 months. In that case "you may wish" to wait to make your application until you have no more than one FPN in the 12 month period before applying."

I guess it is at the discretion of the case worker so i going to go ahead and apply disclose both of them and explain the one about tinted tail lights.

Fingers crossed :)
