Dear All

I was not able to find a thread of filling AN form section that refers to Parents details. I am filling AN (Naturalization) based on 5 years residency on HSMP+T-1 and 1 year on ILR which was granted last year in Oct.

In AN form, they have asked to complete my parents details. Is it a mandatory requirement as my parents are based in India.

You need to provide their details. Why would it be an issue to provide their details? They don't need to be British.

Thanks Jambo. I will call my parents and get those details. I was under the impression that those details are only required if someone is applying citizenship due to their parents being British and living for many no. of years.

They request parents details so as to search their systems if they were British citizen and if they were then you may qualify for BC thru decent. No harm in providing.

I would also imagine they want the details in the system for security and identification. Just another level of personal data in the system to prevent ID theft.
