I lost my passport a month ago and I was wondering how big a problem will it be. In the past year I have been out of UK for I think some 30 days but I am don't know the exact numbers and I can not specify the exact dates now.
Any suggestions on what I should put in AN form?

You can request your SAR from DPU. You can mention roughly dates in the form. or You can get employer attendance record for absent period.
Must mention some roughly dates.

I can list roughly the dates and I would be mistaken by a margin of 4-5 days.
Will my rough but not precise estimate affect my application?
(What does SAR and DPU mean?)

Forget about sar and dpu. Just mention approximate dates, and mention that the dates are appromate. Since you have lost your passport, you will have to submit documentary proof of your residence during the qualifying perion. This could inculde bills, p60's etc. A letter from your employers will be a good document too.

Am I right to understand that you do not essentially have to get the exact number of days right as long as you are very near the total number of days absent?
