Hi there,

We are on ILR status in the UK and have been blessed with a baby girl. We originally have Indian passport and as I understand our child will be eligible for british passport.

I have been searching on the UKBA website but couldn't find relevant details. Can anyone please help find aswers to following:

1. what is the process to apply for british passport for a baby (with parents on ILR)?
2. how long does it take and how much does it cost?
3. after getting british passport we aim to travel to India so will need to sort out visa for my baby and not sure if anyone knows process to do so.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dev

UKBA don't handle British passports. The HM Passport Office does. See Get a child passport.

Are you aware that by applying for a British passport, the child will renounce his Indian citizenship. If you wish the child to remain Indian (and also British), better to apply for Indian passport and Certificate of Entitlement. See more - Are you a minor, Indian by descent and also foreign citizen?.
