Date of application

Hi All,
If I apply for BC at NCS on 26th of Nov 2013, and assuming they send using special delivery and received by home office on the 27th Nov, what would be my date of application?
I am applying on 5 years residency basis, and was on holiday from 6th Dec-31 Dec 2008. So I am worry that it will take sometime for application to reach the "receiving authority" (as described in chapter 6 of nationality caseworker instruction). Just to make sure that I physically was in the UK 5 years before my application is received by HO.
