I have applied for my twin boys of 15 years naturalization on MN1 form . I have misplaced the original birth certificates for both the kids issued in India, but have enclosed a Xerox copy. All other documents are complete.

Will this cause a problem ? If yes, can the birth certificates be issued by Indian embassy in London ? Has anyone got his kids ( born in India) birth certificate thru Indian embassy in London ?
Please guide me

if you please go to their website, they say birth certificate are required. Do you think otherwise ? My information is limited to the website . Akthough on my kids passport, my and my wifes name are written as father and mother.

Should I proactively go to Indian embassy and try ? or is it not needed ?

Can you please advice ?

If they are not originals, then they should be certified by your Embassy.

I am taking about UKBA website under British naturalisation . It says under documents required for MN1 applicants , full birth certificate required

The documents we require for registration as a British citizen by a person under 18 wrote:Evidence from children living in the United Kingdom

You should provide:

the child's full birth certificate; and
the child's passport used on entry to the United Kingdom and any other subsequent passports; and
the parents' marriage or civil partnership certificate.

Indian HC cannot issue Birth Certificates. Some Indian embassies do issue date of birth certificates based on the information on Indian passports. But I do not think HCI issues such certificates in UK.

If you have relatives in India, ask them to get birth certs. Its a simple process to obtain birth certs in India.

When you knew birth cert is required, then you should not have applied in the first place before you had all docs to hand.

If original birth cert was submitted during a previous application, then if there is a caseworker with brain then they might not insist on seeing it again.

Birth certificate is a must to register anyone as British, I wont gamble without have those at the first place. I have never heard of IHC issuing Birthcertificate for people born in India though I may be wrong. All they can do is issue passports and do misc activities as mentioned on their website.
You have to get birth certificates arranged from your local municipal office etc.. what ever the case be.

Some IHC's and Indian embassies issue something called "date of birth certificate". They just copy the info from Indian passport onto a certificate.

Indian embassies in Ireland and USA (and many other missions) have this service.

Indian missions in UK do not offer this service, or at least there is no information that they do.
