Does the Passport office "Cancel/Cut" Foreign Pass

Dear All,
My wife is at the stage where she will soon be in possession of her naturisation certificate, and will naturally apply for a passport. When she applies she needs to send her certificate and foreign passport, she will be keeping her other citizenship.
Does the passport office cut foreign passports, given that dual nationality is allowed in UK, if they do it would cause problems for her in terms of going back to visit her parents immediately should something bad happen.
