Helo all, can I apply to register my son a s abritish. He is 7years and was born in d UK. Both parents are not settled in Uk yet but inunderstand any child age 7 who has been living in the country for a continous period of 7yrs and above can apply to register child as british. Is this correct? Thanks for ur reply.

This appears to indicate that in the case where neither parent has become settled it's 10 years, not 7. See section 1(4) here:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... /borninuk/
Is either parent close to becoming settled? As soon as one parent becomes settled then the child is immediately eligible.

The 7 years rule is about settlement not Registration as BC which requires (for UK born child) either a settled parent or 10 years.

See
settlement on basis of child born in uk and 7yrs old
What is th current status of the child? Might be simpler/cheaper just to wait another 3 years and register him as British.
