hi everybody, I wonder if someone can help me. I applied for naturalisation on 24 october before the rules meant to be change on 28 october. I have not heard anything back yet no acknowledgement or email. I applied by post and did special delivery. My question is how long it takes to get acknowledgement and whole process. And my second question is I am going abroad in end of january 2014 and I need my Indian passport back. So question is how to get my passport back? will they give it back in middle of process and doesn't effect my application?

Browse the forum and work out how long it could take. If you had travel plans then it would have been better to apply once you were back in UK, rather than running around and doing unnecessary procedures now.

My personal advice would be not to ask for your passport back until you receive an acknowledgement.
