Registration as British Citizen

My daughter was born illegitimately in 2004 outside the Uk after her father received his ILR.
I have read a lot of conflicting information online in regards to children born before 2006 to a British/Settled father and I am beginning to wonder if he can register her a citizen in the MN1.
She does not reside in the Uk but will be coming there if this application is approved.
All and any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
