Hi All,

I need advise for applying for naturalization along with me as I am not sure whether she is eligible or not

I came in dec 2006 and got my ILR in july 2013 .Now I am applying for Naturalization ( 5yrs + 1 yr )

My wife came to UK in mar-2008 and she was dependent until july-2013. During this period she was out of Uk for 316 days

She got ILR in june -2013 and during this period she was out of UK for 50 days . ( last 1 year )

Altogether she is out of for 366 days .

I am not sure she also has to complete the 5 +1 yrs or Is she eligible as per the UKBA Residential requirements mentioned below

To demonstrate the residential requirements for naturalization, you must have:

been resident in the UK for at least five years (this is known as the residential qualifying period); and
been present in the UK five years before the date of your application; and
not spent more than 450 days outside the UK during the five-year period; and
not spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months of the five-year period; and
not been in breach of the Immigration Rules at any stage during the five-year period.

Please advice

Thanks in advance
Raj

You and your spouse can't apply until July 2014 at the earliest.

Hi,

Me and my wife got the ILR IN 2013 FEBRUARY on tier 1. I completed 5 years on tier 1 visa which i got in feb 2008 but My wife got the dependent visa in 2009 and she came here to live in january 2010. Now in February I am going to apply for citizenship after completing one year on ILR. My question is that can she apply with or not although her 1 year completed after ILR but at the whole she only spent 4 years. Advice required.

Thanks
Kam
