Physically present in UK 5 years before application

Hi All

Just a quick query please. I wanted to confirm the requirement to be physically present in UK, is it from the date the Home Office receives the application or from the date they issue the acknowledgment of application receipt letter (which is usually sent 4 weeks after receiving the application)? Or is it any time in between them receiving the application and issuing the acknowledgment letter?

If it's 5 years from the date they actually receive the application, I'm just wondering how I'd be able to prove that the Home Office has actually received the application on that particular date?

Many thanks for any responses.

It is the date + 1 day that the UKBA receives your application. If you have any doubt on whether you were physically present, best would be to wait till you meet this requirement as it is grounds for refusal.

If I understood correctly, it's the day I post the application (or NCS appointment)+ 1 day (or however long it takes for them to receive)? Not the date the Home Office issue the acknowledgment letter?

Thanks again

No, it is the date that UKBA receives your application +1 day, not the day you post it or the date of appointment at NCS.
