English Proficiency and question 1.3

Hi,

I was wondering if someone would be able to help me. I have two problems, both of them are preventing me from completing my application.

First, few key fact about me. I am a Polish national living in the UK since December 2006. I was registered with the WRS
(Work Registration Scheme) in March 2007. In 2009 I received a Residence Documentation, I do not remember when I applied for it. I am in my 3rd year at the University of the West of England doing BA (HONS) International Relations. To be admitted to University I had to get IELTS. I scored 6.5 which is more than enough as a proof of English proficiency. However, as usual, my first name was spelled wrong. Other information on the IELTS certificate is correct.

Questions:

1)If I send my IELTS certificate together with a letter from my university stating that my degree is taught in the UK, would it be enough?

2) What date do I put in question 1.3 if I arrived to the UK in Dec 2006, got registered with WRS in March 2007 and received Residence Documentation in 2009? I've been in the UK for around 8 years

Sorry for the lengthy introduction. I tried to search the forum, but didn't find the answer. I also tried to contact the HO but they are slow in responding to emails and their Liverpool contact Centre is a joke.

Thanks a lot

Cezary

If you obtained a degree in the UK, English test is not required. Just provide proof of your degree.

When you applied in 2009, did you apply as a student or a worker? Did you work part time during your student years? The reason I'm asking is that the HO requires EU students to have private health insurance while they study (or a non UK EHIC). This has nothing to do with the NHS eligibility.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I haven't graduated yet and I want to apply before graduation.

I started a full time employment in March 2007, hence the WRS. I'm in a part-time employment, and I haven't been out of work since I moved to the UK. For the residency I applied as a worker. From what I was told once, after the registration with WRS I had to work for 12 month before my 5 years period would begin. Therefore I become eligible to apply for British Citizenship in March 2013. For the purpose of answering question 1.3 I need to provide a date when I were 'given indefinite leave to remain in the UK. From what I understand, because I am a EU citizen, I have received that right 12 months after starting work.

This is all confusing to me... I am not sure how to answer question 1.3

The equivalent to ILR is obtained after 5 years of exercising treaty rights so March 2012.

Thank you. It would be so much easier if HO would do a better job at explaining those things. I'm glad I found this forum. Cheers
