Existing Passport -- British Citizenship

Hello All

I have got my ILR and will be applying for my British Citizenship soon. Actually, I have travel plans scheduled at the time when I am supposed to apply for my British Citizenship; in this regard, I would like to ask if someone can advice whether at the time of applying British Citizenship will me current Passport will need to be submitted as part of the application or is it returned to me when I apply for Citizenship. I am asking this as if the rule is that my current Passport will be taken as part of the application process, I will need to apply when I am back from my travels.

Any advice on this will be most welcome.

Many Thanks in advance.

If you apply via solicitor or via NCS you won't need to give your passport.

Thanks collipu for your reply; that means if i apply myself my passport will need to be submitted with my application until the process is completed?
