I Applied on the 12th of May 2014 and now getting annoyed with the whole process - especially when you know its a straight forward case. Paying £906 is no easy joke - there needs to be Value for Money (VFM) which certainly doesn't exist. Not sure why they can't issue tracking numbers so we can monitor progress individually  :? :x  :!:

Hello, could anyone please let me know whether return of documents means that a decision has been made on my application? Got my documents back today but still waiting for the brown envelope to turn up. I phoned them and I was given the usual reply about the standard waiting time being six months and my application is still under consideration. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks.

Spoke to them yesterday after I crossed the 5 months period.
Still the same 6 months crap. I asked them why is it taking this long and they didn't have any idea nor that they know if it's with a caseworker or not.
They confirmed that it's not a first come first serve basis so I'm guessing they just randomly pick up applications to make it look like they don't have a backlog. Made sure I tell them that this was the most pathetic service I have ever received.
Was told that I will get a call from caseworker after the 6 months period is done and they will only tell me that my application has been delayed and nothing more. And if I don't get a call back from the caseworker after 6 months then I will have to call them and they will email the relevant department for the latest update. No penalty or anything for delaying it.
Oh and that 6 months thing is just a guideline. Caseworker can take as long as they please on a single application.
Goodluck.

I think for our last bunch of applications we will have to send a letter to our MP and get this progressed

as i have seen few cases where after 6 months there was no response and once the email from MP was send the application was processed in couple of weeks time

i am hoping we dont have to go down this path

yep called them and they said its still in the 6 months limit

so call us if you dont hear back in next 3-4 weeks

its an easy case and straight forward case but by the looks of it they do the easy ones at the end

Yeah I believe that our applications are just laying somewhere catching dust else they had enough time to deal with it.
Hoping that we don't have to go down that patch but kinda have the feeling that we might.
Goodluck.
