Hi

I have recently came across many of the threads here and i am in a confused state about the english language requirement for citizenship.

Will the Life at uk test certification would be sufficient for citizenship application ? or do we still need to take english language test ? I was in Tier1 General previously and my wife was tier1 dependant.

Can we use our Degree certificates to prove the english language requirement ? I have a master degree taught in english and my wife has an engineering degree taught in english from India. Can I use our degree certificates to prove the english language requirement if so, should we check on the PBS calculator ?

or should we need to take the English test again to prove the language requirement ?

You both have to prove English language requirement.

If your degree was not taught in UK then wither you have get B1 CEFR or higher qualification OR you need the confirmation certificate from UK NARIC that your degree was taught or researched in English.

Hi,

I have the degree taught in english and i have awarded points for my Tier1 extension. Can i use the point based calculator points to show my degree taught in english ?

Also, my wife degree also listed in the point based calculator, can we use that to proof the english language requirement ?

You’ll need to prove your degree was both:

taught or researched in English
confirmed by UK NARIC as the equivalent of a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in the UK

You’ll need to provide your original degree certificate and 1 of the following:

a printout from the points-based calculator with the equivalent level of your degree and the level of English
an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English
an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (except Canada)
