Dear All,

We are applying for naturalisation for my wife. She has been in UK for 3 years, during which she has 313 days leave of absences.

I know that 300 days are normally ignored, and for upto 450 days it is expected to be resident for 4 years.

However, we would like to apply for BC now rather than wait for 1 more year. Does anyone have any experience / know of someone who have applied in a similar situation?

PS: Some additional details are at the bottom.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers,
Dib.

Other details:
- Only 28 days in the last 12 month
- Have ILR since October 2013, however I understand that there is no such rule to have it for 12 months when applying as a spouse of BC
- Majority of the absences is due to pursuing study overseas (~280 days), as a result of which she has a good job with a major UK company since 1.5 years ago. She pays major amount of tax to the Govt.
