There are other ways to contact UKVI if you’re outside the UK.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) aims to process all applications for citizenship, naturalisation and nationality within 6 months.

I was jumping in excitement when I received the letter from Southampton City Council that my naturalisation ceremony has been arranged for me on 4th November 2014. However, it stated in the letter that I need to bring with me on the day Home Office letter confirming my citizenship has been accepted and I have not receive it yet! I am still trying to call home office to ask them about the letter but to no avail!! Wish me luck in getting hold of someone to check! Btw, I am very very happy that it's all done! just need that letter from home office. I wish everyone who are still waiting all the best and good luck! I am sure it those apply in July will get their approval letter soon!

Hi guys I received letter from council today informing me I'd been successful and inviting me to ceremony as above. Letter from home office yet to arrive. All the best to everyone still waiting

Update: I called the council to see if there were any earlier dates or private ceremonies. Oxford currently not offering private ceremonies due to staff shortage. They did manage to change my ceremony date to today 23/10/14. Home office approval letter never arrived but council was happy for me to bring proof of ID. Had the ceremony today presented my drivers licence and they were happy with that. So all set to send off passport application now. Just called the HO call centre and my application is still under consideration. No notes from the case worker and no request of additional documents. My application should be straightforward: EU citizen, been living here for 8 years, language requirements OK, no criminal offence, also CRB/DBS clear (journalist in my home country). Lots of July and August applicants (after 16th July) are receiving the approval letter...
