Eligibility criteria: 5yr + 1yr ILR
Language criteria met: exempt countries
Current nationality: Australian
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Westminster council checking service
Date of application: 31-July-2014
Payment method CC/DC: Credit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 1-Aug-2014
Date of acknowledgment: 8-Aug-2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 8-Aug-2014
Date approval received: letter was dated 18-Oct-2014 but only arrived 30-Oct-2014
Date of ceremony: private ceremony arranged for 4 Nov

Just thought I’d quickly mention as there was about 10 days delay between when the approval was granted (18th Oct) to when letter arrived (30-Oct. I was informed by the council that the Home Office held back notification letters due to the massive back log with passports applications. Be aware that you have 3 months from the date of approval (not from receipt) to register for a ceremony. If you are not able to make a ceremony within the 3 months you can ask for an extension from the Home Office.

Hi,
vvv here, missing from the list.
I'm still waiting, applied on 30th June, received 1st July...
Should be uncomplicated application, no criminal record,
fresh IELTS exam with British Council, continuously emloyed
Maybe it's because I got a fixed penalty ticket for getting stuck in a box junction after I applied, though NCS advised me that I don't need to do anything about it.
Called them a week ago, got the standard answer.
I'm getting really depressed but there is not much I can do...

hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I also applied in July, but looking at May and June forums I don't expect any news before October.
Plus I heard that EEA applications without ILR tend to take longer. Anyone knows anything about that?
Indeed it seems that applications for EEA national without residence card are not being processed since around May 2014, looking at different forums. It would be interesting to hear if there are other EEA national without ILR who received a response to their application in the recent months or weeks... And would anyone have any insight as to why those applications could be on hold?

Thanks for this info, I'm also EEA national without ILR certificate. This explains the long wait...

Emfrench and assa81.I am the same.I applied on 18th july.5 years EEA without ILR.I applied straight away.Because i ve seen couple of stories they they were is same stories like us and they got their citizenship ; one of them in even 2 months and other one in 3 months. They even stated that people in the same shoes like them, they should apply directly after 5 months end.So thatway i took courage to apply.
So i phoned HO 3 times and same response like everyone get it.i was very anxiuos as to why this this happened to me.But now i see that you are in the same station too.
I think there is nothing to do other than waiting patiently. Its really hard and depressive.

It looks like there are some pending cases from April 2014 (I just saw on the April 2014 naturalisation application timeline topic), so these cases have been pending for over 6 months... I wonder why the EEA national cases are being put on hold, when everybody is paying the same fee to apply!?

If you are with Redbridge council you will have to wait for Oath ceremony for least 3 weeks. There are no immediate private appointments available in Redbridge or any genral....

Application based on PR holder plus 1 year.

Will update as at when I have more information.
Update!

I checked my account yesterday - 07/08/14 - and can see the payment of £906 hanging so that means it was processed yesterday.

To my surprise I got an email today confirming payment has been taken and my application is being considered, it also include a case ID, I guess they wont be sending out letters again and all is done by email now ( I support this if thats the case). I guess that was why they updated the application AN form giving preference to emails as they asked this twice to make sure its correct.

It also says the application may take up to 6 months and if they cant process my application within 6 months they will let me know as soon as possible.

Anyone else got the email too?
Update!

Acknowledgement letter received on 13/08/14 dated 07/08/14

All done, am now British.

I got my famous brown letter on 27/10/14 dated 18/10/14, I called the council and they had already booked me for a ceremony on 20/11/14 but I just couldnt wait that long, I guess I was to anxious to have it all done with.

I booked a private ceremony for today - 03/11/14 , I had to pay £125 for the privilege, all done now and I have also sent out my passport application too.

All the best to you people that are still waiting and congratulations to people that have received their approval too.

I called to HO and again same response as "in progress" . What does it mean really? Some of them get answers "under consideration". Is it different?Thats really strange!

Same here, applied on the 17th of July, EEA national, I have a feeling that EEA applications are been held up for one reason or another :-(

It seems that they only approve 2-3 per week from July applicants. 28 left. So it means that we may wait up to 3 more months. Who would be the next 2 lucky July mates this week?

Hi Guys
I recently wrote to my MP about my situation and i wait her response. If she get same response that i got it(still in progress),then i will withdraw my application as my EEA2 visa expire at end of next month. Then As soon as i get my documents back i will apply for ILR.Otherways i will risk my WEEA2 visa to expire soon.
I know i cant get my bloody money back. But sometimes we have to take tough decision. So now i wait for MP response.

My Honest suggestion is to take step back and keep it cool, aggression is a spoil sport, I mean do not withdraw your application, Leave that in that queue. You could write an email to HO explaining your situation regarding the expiry of EEA2 visa, since you are already in a process and in queue of naturalisation past 3+ month, should you apply for your extension or should you be waiting to hear on the current application.

Hi all

I was trying to do simple analysis and used your data regarding the number of applicants and approval received to date. Attaching the file if some of you need this. Seems like most of you got an approvals after 2-3 months waiting time. Good luck to those who's still waiting.

Re: July 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline
Eligibility criteria: Spouse of BC
Language criteria met: B1 test (Expired Pearson test of English) + Life in the uk
Method of application: NCS Bedford
Date of application: 29/07/2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 9/08/2014
Date acknowledgment received : 14/08/2014
Date of Approval: Waiting

Update: I called today to get the progress status of my application and the guy I spoke to informed me that my application is still under consideration and further checks was requested on the 9th of October.
Now I know someone is dealing with my application. However, I cant get my head around the fact that checks were requested less than a month ago. My application is over 3months yet the wait continues.....
So annoying

But the checks for kids shouldn't take long. Why they are not sending first approvals of the children who applied within the family and they are waiting for the decision of the whole family!?

hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I also applied in July, but looking at May and June forums I don't expect any news before October.
Plus I heard that EEA applications without ILR tend to take longer. Anyone knows anything about that?

well so far I have not heard anything and I won't even bother calling anywhere until it's been 6 months. I guess it will be done when it's done. Luckily I am not in any hurry and as I applied through NCS I have all my documents for travel. It would be great to hear from someone in a similar shoes whose application was ALREADY approved. Anyone here from July (or June or May?)?
