First British Passport Query

Hi Guys,
My ceremony is on 16th July. I'm travelling on 23rd August.
I need your advices that If I apply for passport on 16th July, what you think I will get it by 23rd August??
I don't want my holidays ruined, I know I have to send my original passport as well for this application.
For any reason , if Home Office didn't send my documents back by that time I will be stranded.
other wise I need to apply in mid September.
Pls Advice.
