language, unemployment and NCS!

I got a letter from UK NARIC stating that my level of English language for my degree course is considered to meet the requirements of CEFR level C1, and they asked me if I may wish to receive a UK NARIC certificate of English language assessment for my qualification.
Does this letter satisfy the requirements of Knowledge of language in the UK in order to apply for naturalisation and do I need the certificate as well?
Secondly, My husband wish to apply for BC as well ( joint application) but he is unemployed, Does unemployment affect his or our application? if not, how he should answer questions 3.1 and 3-2 in Form AN as there is no box to tick for unemployed?
Finally, which is it better, to apply through NCS or by post?
Please advise
Thanks in advance

Not 100% sure of the English requirement.

Employment is not a requirement for Naturalisation, just write 'unemployed'. As long as your husband meets the 5 years residence and standard requirements (12 months ILR, LIUK, English B1, within absence limits, etc), he can apply.

You are aware that there is no longer a reduced fee for joint applications, it is the full fee for each applicant.

NCS is better, for a fee, as you get to keep your original documents.

Many thanks Amber, Do I still need the certificate or only that letter would be fine?
another question please, will my colleague who is Engineer be accepted as a referee? I checked the list of acceptable professional persons which include Engineer but with professional qualifications, what do you understand that to mean?
Please advise
Kind regards
Summer

Is the engineer a member of a professional organisation?

He studied at university and got a degree in in civil Engineering.
Is membership a must? Thanks
