AN Form - Application Date/Physically Present Query

Hi All,

Just needed a quick bit of advice -

As per immigration rules one should be physically present in UK 5 years prior to application date. My question is which date is considered as application date:

- For example I plan to apply on 22nd of this month at an NCS. Would 22nd be considered application date or 23rd? As on 23rd Aug 2009 i flew out of UK on holiday abroad.

- Secondly, if i apply on 21st, i was physically present in UK on 21st Aug 2009 and 22nd Aug 2009. Would this be OK? Or should i just to be on safer side postpone my application for few weeks?

Thanks
Dinjyo

The date of application is the date + 1 day that HO receives your application NOT when you apply at NCS.

I would wait a couple of weeks if I was you as if you were not physically present exactly 5 years ago, your application will be refused.

Is the date the HO receives the application is what is shown on the special delivery tracking number (delivered date)?? Or would it be the date that the application is logged onto the home office system which could take few weeks??

I applied on the basis of the date they actually received it in the post by special delivery.

It is the day HO received your application.
