Hi Folks
Hope you are all well! my first post. I am taking the test for IELTS General on Saturday 19.07.14 and hope to apply for naturalisation soon. I am very confused about what is the minimum score i need to obtain to meet the requirement for the English language (B1).
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _07_14.pdf - This link states that you have to get band 4.0 minimum in each Category (speaking, listening, writing and reading) so overall 4.0 and above
However i was told by some who submitted his IELTS certificate that ONLY speaking and listening scores are looked at and taken into consideration in your application so if you score band 4 in speaking and listening and less than 4 in reading and writing so still would qualify? Is this the case? Could anyone shed some light and clify this please because i am very confused.
I also rang the UKBA helpline and the lady i spoke to was not very sure on what she was saying but kind of said that yes you need to get 4.0 in each category to meet the B1 requirement?
I would greatly appreciate any help and advice on this please to clarify this for me as i am worried sick because i know i will be on the borderline even though i have tried to prepare the best i can.
Many thanks in Advance
