Dear Administrators,

Perhaps you might have answered numerous times already buy can I please request guidance again as I am new to using forum boards.

We as a family are looking to apply for British citizenship. We presently hold Indian passports.

We were granted ILR in February 2013.

Query 1: My wife initially came to England in 2006 on student visa. She then was enrolled with University of Lincoln for Overseas Nursing Program and received pass certificate in 2007. Since then she has been working full time as a Registered Nurse. She also cleared her Life In UK test in January 22013. Having pass certificate from University of Lincoln and Pass certificate for Life in UK - is that sufficient enough to apply for citizenship or she still needs to attend another exam to prove her proficiency in English language?

Query 2: I initially came to England in 2010 on spouse visa and obtained Life in UK pass certificate in February 2013 and was granted ILR also I'm February 2013. I am presently working full time as a team.leader in customer services in a cintact centre. Whilst working my employer sponsored my NVQ level 2 in customer services from edexcel via city of Bristol college. Can you please confirm if the two certificates are enough for me to apply for British citizenship or I also need to undertake any more exams?

Query 3: My son was born in February 2011 in England and was also granted ILR in February 2013. In his MN1 form Section 1.1, can you please confirm what option should I chose given my situation as explained above and if somebody can clarify what's the difference.

If somebody can please provide guidance I would be so ever thankful.

Best regards,
Kaushal1979

Wondering what qualifications have you used to claim English Language requirments while applying for ILR? Usually the same qualifications are sufficient for Citizenship + LIUK exam certificate.

Sorry not much useful but have you checked if yours/wifes qualifications are listed in points calculator?: https://www.points.homeoffice.gov.uk/gu ... ment.faces

Thanks for your response. I am sorry if I wasn't clear.

My wife originally came to England in 2006 on student visa. She was then granted work permit visa in 2008 to work as a registered nurse. Then we got married in 2010 and I came to England on spouse or dependent visa in 2010. We then had a baby in 2011. I am working as a team leader in contact centre. We both cleared Life in UK test in 2013 and were granted ILR in February 2013.

We are now looking to apply for citizenship.

Additionally I have done NVQ level 2 in customer services from edexcel in 2011.

My wife has a pass certificate from University of Lincoln for Overseas Nursing Program and is regular member of Nursery and Midwifery. She has a photocopy of ILETs certificate which was in the year 2008.

1. Given the above situation, do we both still need to undertake ESOL test or because I have NVQ 2 in customer services from edexcel in England and my wife has Pass certificate from Lincoln University we can be exempted?

2. Also our 3 year child citizenship form Section 1 - under which category should we apply for him to be registered as British national? What are different type of categories and what's the difference?

Thanks,
