British citizenship application eligibility as spouse of EEA

I am French and my husband is non EU, in september we have been married 5 years and therefore he will have held his residence card for 5 years. We would like to both apply for the British citizenship and we have been advised as follows:
- I should apply first as an EEA exercising treaty rights in UK for over 6 years
- Once I have been naturalised, I should attend the ceremony to be naturalised the day after the 5 year anniversary of our wedding date
- My husband should apply once I have been naturalised on the basis of spouse of a British citizen (therefore the timing is reduced as he does not have to wait for another 1 year after having ILR) AND on the basis that he has been married to me for over 5 years and I was exercising treaty rights in the UK as a EEA national for the 5 years following our wedding.

My question is whether this is acceptable as it is a mix between British and European law, so I am wondering whether there is a risk my husband's application to naturalise could be declined?

This is fine. There is no issue with "mixing" EEA and UK routes.
