EEA4 or Citizenship?

Hi all,

Based on some posts i have seen i became a little doubtful if i should apply for my PR first or if I could go straight to Citizenship.

My partner the EEA national is working in this country since October 2007. We got married in October 2008- therefore i assume my status as EEA family member counts from this time and not from the moment my RC was issued? right?

If so my partner became automatically a P resident in 2012. and I could then apply for PR From Oct 2013 right?- The HO took 1 year and 4 months to issue my residence card.

So based on the question above- Can I go for Citizenship straight away? because I have been here for over 5 years as a EEA family member and my EEa national is here for almost 7...note i still have a residence card until the 15th of October.

I would be very grateful for your assistance.

The answer to all your questions is yes.

This is based on the assumption that your wedding was in the UK hence you are classed as family member of EEA national who is exercising treaty right from that date.

Amazing!

Yes we entered in a civil partnership in October 2008- so 5 years for me in october 2013.

But he is working here since 2007 and i have everything to prove that as i was about to apply for my PR.

This is great.

I will make an appointment with the nationality check service.

Thank you!

Please note you can only apply 1 year after you have acquired the PR so thats October 2014 subject to you meeting all the other requirements for naturalisation.

Correct.

But then you will need to send all the evidence to should you acquired PR in October 2013.

Having a PR just makes life a bit easy as you dont need to send all the proves again and might make the application faster according to HO.

Not a problem, pass on the favour.

I've learnt a lot from other people's experience and forums like this so am always happy to help where possible.

Have a good day and weekend.
