Hi experts,

I’m planning to apply for Naturalisation for me and my wife.

My wife has an absence period of 476 days in the last 5 years. I understood from BOOKLET AN that she is eligible (480 days are normally disregarded) as the period of absence is less than 480 days (The longest absence period is due to Maternity holiday).

The query is, does she need to tick the following option on Page 16 of AN form? Or delete it?

6.7*Ideclarethat,althoughIdonotmeetallofthestatutoryrequirementsfornaturalisation,Ibelievethat,inviewofthefollowingspecialcircumstances,theHomeSecretaryshouldtreatmeasfulfillingthoserequirementsorwaivetheneedinmycasetofulfilthem.

Kindly advice.

NO i dont think you should select that option as you are within the limits of qualifying period.. If you are using NCS.. you can check this with them as well..

This is ticked where there is some discretion involved from caseworker..
